Who you are dealing with

Beffore is made and operated by an independent developer, working as an individual rather than through a company. “We” and “us” below mean exactly that one person. Contact: marcel@beffore.app.

Your licence to use the app

Beffore is distributed through the Apple App Store. Unless we present you with a different agreement, your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement, which grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. These terms cover this website and our side of the service around the app.

You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Subscriptions

Beffore is free to download and offers an optional subscription. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.

• Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Renewal is automatic unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
• Cancelling is done in your Apple Account settings, not by us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue them, though we are happy to support a request you make to Apple.

Prices may change. Any change applies from your next billing period, never retroactively, and Apple will tell you before it takes effect.

What Beffore is — and is not

Beffore is a productivity tool. It is not a medical device, a health service, or a treatment for any condition, including compulsive phone use or any form of addiction. It gives no medical, psychological, or clinical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If your phone use is causing you distress, please speak to someone qualified to help.

Limits are best-effort, by design

Beffore is built on the principle that locks are defaults, never walls — every limit ships with a deliberate one-tap way past it. In addition:

• Screen-time totals reported by iOS are approximate, and can lag behind real usage.
• iOS may delay, drop, or decline to run the background extensions that apply and lift shields.
• Anyone with access to your unlocked device can remove the app or revoke its Screen Time permission.

So Beffore must not be relied on as a parental control, a security control, or any other guarantee that an app will be blocked at a given moment.

Acceptable use

Use the app and this website lawfully. Do not attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or any system behind it.

Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app, this website, or any feature of them. If a paid feature is discontinued during a period you have paid for, contact us and we will help you seek an appropriate refund from Apple.

No warranty

The app and this website are provided “as is”. Beyond what the law requires of us, we make no warranty that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or loss arising from a limit that did not apply when you expected it to. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Beffore in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use Beffore after that means the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there if that law gives you the right to.
